In an earlier press release, the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, stated that the re-registration of SIM cards with Ghana Cards will begin on October 1, 2021.

How to re-register your SIM Card with Ghana Card via USSD

Kindly follow the steps to re-register your SIM Card with Ghana Card using USSD

  1. On your phone, dial *404#
  2. Select option 1 (Register)
  3. Enter your Ghana Card PIN
  4. Now Confirm Ghana Card PIN
  5. Enter your Surname on the Ghana Card
  6. Enter your First name(s) on the Ghana Card
  7. Enter Your Date of Birth in this format (DDMMYYYY)
  8. Enter your sex ( Male or Female)
  9. Now confirm your details
  10. Submits details provided after confirmation

If your confirmation was successful, you will receive a confirmation message with a unique code. If confirmation is failed due to incorrect information, security questions will be presented with three chances to respond. If a failed notice appears as a result of an NIA verification failure, you will be notified to contact the National Identification Authority.

Once the procedure is completed, you must return to your service provider with your Ghana Card, the Unique Code that was sent to you, and your Digital Address to complete the final process.
