Ghana At A Crossroads: Basic Schools Are Without Textbooks For 3 Years Now – John Mahama

Former President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has spoken on the unavailability of textbooks for public basic schools across Ghana.

In his speech yesterday that has since dominated all the major news headlines, John Mahama who also remains the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) asserted that government has failed to provide textbooks for basic schools.

This comes after the ruling Akufo-Addo led administration changed the educational curriculum for basic schools.

Unfortunately for the pupils and teachers, government after wasting tax payers money on the new curriculum and teachers workshops on the new curriculum has ailed to provide textbooks.

According to John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, changing a curriculum and bringing a new one without textbooks is a waste of money since it is textbooks that will be used to facilitate teaching and learning and the new curriculum implementation.
